DIY: Acid Wash Jeans!

Hey readers,
I'm an 80's girl at heart, and when I found out acid wash was having a comeback, the 80's girl in me shined through! I'm so excited! Probably my favorite trend of the year.
      If you're like me, and you easily get bored with your basic blue jeans, then this is how to bring some sass to your basic denim;

YOU'LL NEED:

- A bucket filled with water. I filled mine with about 15 cups, it all depends on the size of your bucket.
- Bleach(Clorox)
- A dark pair of jeans
- A box of rubber bands
- A pair of gloves
- Measuring cup
- A well ventilated area(outside)

Step 1: Bunch up your jeans and tie them with a rubber band. Keep bunching, twisting, and tying your jeans until you get to the waist.
(P.S. Ignore my sexy pjs)

Keep doing what you're doing...

After finishing one leg, it should look like this;

Do the same exact thing to the other leg, it doesn't have to be perfect. The end result should look like this;
Then finally secure the whole thing with 1 rubber band so it doesn't end up falling apart!

Step 2: Add bleach to the water in your bucket. I added 6 cups, which is a bit less than half of the amount of water already in the bucket. DO NOT add too much bleach to your mixture unless you want the bleach to weaken the jeans and eventually cause a hole.

Step 3: This is the part where you need your gloves! Put them on and then soak the jeans into the water+bleach mixture.
Some parts of the jeans wouldn't get submerged into the mixture. No worries, just flip the side over after about half an hour. As I said, DO NOT add any more bleach to the mixture even if the whole pair of jeans isn't submerged. Patience, grasshopper.

If your jeans are submerged, keep them in the mixture for about an hour. If they aren't, keep 1 side for half an hour and do the same to the other side.

Step 4: Wash out as much bleach as you can in your bath tub or sink or even with a garden hose.
Yes, it looks like urine. I know.
Step 5: Cut all the rubber bands.

Step 6: Put your jeans in your washing machine, with cold water for at least 10 minutes. Do not add any soap.

Step 7: Either hang your jeans out to dry or throw them in the dryer!

TAA-DAA!

You can now strut your stuff in your fabulous revamped pair of jeans!
Enjoy!x
