Product Smackdown: LANCOME Liner Plume VS. Maybelline Master Precise

Hello, gorgeous!

One of my new years resolutions of 2k14 is to be more active and post more on my blog so, here it is! The very first of two-thousand fourteen. Gosh, that number just makes me so excited!
Anyways enough about the date, today's post will be my very first Product Smackdown, a new segment to my blog comparing two products(high-end vs. drugstore mostly) and seeing which one takes the cake and whether or not the price tag on high-end products are truly worth the price!
The very first Product Smackdown post will be revolving around two of my favorite eyeliners that are on the opposite side of the spectrum. One of them is the Lancome Liner Plume in 01 Noir(high end) and the other being the Maybelline Master Precise liquid eyeliner in Noir - Black.

Lancome
VS
Maybelline

Right - Maybelline. Left - Lancome.

\
Top - Maybelline. Bottom - Lancome.

As you can see in the picture above, the Lancome is much more pigmented than the Maybelline.

LANCOME Liner Plume:

Price: I can't remember the exact price but it was definitely very pricey. Around 13 - 17 BHD - 22 Pounds - 36 Dollars(Unavailable in the US). Ouch.
Pigmentation: VERY BLACK.
Longevity: Lasts til the end of the day, without smudging or smearing.
Application: Easy. Foam-tip applicator.
Amount: 1 ml.
Website description: A precise tip for build able lining.
Downfall: Price.
Will I repurchase: Definitely.
Rate: 9.5/10(the only downfall is the price).

MAYBELLINE MASTER PRECISE:

Price: Around 2.5 - 3.5 BD - 7.99 Dollars - 5 Pounds
Pigmentation: Black, impressive for a drugstore product but fairly sheer
Longevity: Around 8 hours.
Application: Easy. Foam-tip applicator, as well but the tip wears off after a while.
Amount: 0.4 mm.
Website description: Exclusive felt tip. Never dries. Never skips.
Ultra-thin 0.4mm brush supplies smooth, even lines.
No mess or excess.
Downfall: Just slightly touching the liner will get it on your finger so it doesn't set very well. It's halfway faded by the time I'm home from school. Will I repurchase: Yes. It's a great everyday eyeliner that your wallet will thank you for. ;)
Rate: 8/10.

In my opinion, the Lancome eyeliner won today's round! But that doesn't mean that the Maybelline is a horrible eyeliner that you shouldn't buy. It's great for everyday usage and I'll admit, I use it almost on a daily basis but the Lancome eyeliner is definitely better quality and I haven't noticed the difference between the two up until this post.
Will you be buying one of these eyeliners?! Should I keep doing 'product smackdowns'? What two products do you want me to compare next?! Tell me below or on my ask.fm page!

Review: LUSH Think Pink Bath Bomb

Hello, gorgeous!

I haven't done a review post since my Coastal Scents review which was a VERY long time ago so while I was soaking in my bath of fruity goodness, reading my copy of Insurgent, I thought, "why not do a review?" and thus, a LUSH Think Pink bath bomb review was born!
My best friend recently came back from Dubai and brought me a bunch of goodies from Lush, one of them being the Think Pink bath bomb I'll be reviewing today.
Keep in mind this is my very first time trying out a Lush bath bomb so I don't have much experience!

*Lush is unavailable in Bahrain*

"Dip yourself in a deliciously scented, bright pink bath which explodes with confetti hearts. Drop it into pre-run bath for a refreshing, fizzy experience."

This was the wrapper that came in and I adore the comic book feel but what can I say? I'm a sucker for cute packaging!

Purchase here.

Can we just take a moment to talk about how cute this bath bomb is?! Unlike most bath bombs, this one was decorated with pretty delicate flowers which is the icing on the cake - or in this case, flower on the bath bomb?

How the Lush website describes the scent: The reassuring smell of tonka and vanilla, with a hit of neroli lifts you up; all wrapped in a pink and frivolous ballistic to stop you taking yourself too seriously.
How I'd describe the scent: I'd definitely say it's a vanilla scent with a certain fruity kick - but I'm the worst when it comes to describing scents so don't take my word for it!

Video is not mine!

I decided to show a video of how the bath bomb works instead of a series of photos. I completely forgot to take a picture of the bath after the ballistic dissolved into girly pink but hopefully, you can get a hint of it in the video. & also, to my surprise, as the bath bomb was fizzing into oblivion, little heart confetti spouted out of the bath bomb which turned this ordinary bath bomb into something special.
As for how long this took to fizz up, I'd say 2 minutes the most because this bath bomb was small compared to it's sisters.

Pros:
- The barbie pink color was lovely.
- The flowers were a nice touch.
- Fizzes fast.
- The confetti hearts - of course!

Cons:
- This bath bomb had a very faint smell compared to the rest of the bath bombs I was gifted which were very strongly scented.
- The scent disappeared in seconds.

Would I repurchase?  Not really. It's not because I didn't like it but because I wanna try as much Lush bath bombs as possible.

Note: This is not supposed to make a bubble bath so don't expect bubbles. All bath bombs do is fizz up to change the color of the water and scent(unless stated otherwise).

Overall, these bath bombs will brighten up anyone's gloomy day! C'mon, how can you not smile when your bath water is turning pink with confetti hearts floating around the place?!

Winter Must-Haves 2013

Hello, gorgeous!

First of all, I AM SO SORRY FOR NOT POSTING IN SO LONG! I completely lost track of time and cannot believe that I haven't posted in almost TWO months. Wow! Because unfortunately, I've had finals come up and many, many personal reasons that I really don't want to bore you with. The important thing is that it's winter break, hurrah! (which means more posts, hurrah again!)
You all loved my Summer 2013 Must-Haves post so I thought the perfect post to kick off this winter break is a Winter Must-Haves post!
Winter is definitely my favorite out of all seasons. Unlike summer, winter is the season of Christmas, New Years, colder weather(duh!), THE BEST OF STARBUCKS DRINKS, boots, hoodies, cuddling, and the best memories. Oh this list could go on forever!

So let's get on to the post where I show what defines MY winter;

1. DIVA BY MAC.

This lipstick is the mother of all vampy lipsticks. This deep burgundy wine color is ideal for the colder months. It complements all skintones AND makes you teeth look whiter! But if you're like me, I'd wear this whatever the weather(we gon' be better together so what's up baby...)!

Cheaper Alternative: Wild Thing by H&M

2. BIG OVERSIZED CHUNKY SWEATERS/CARDIGANS.

This is a must-have I have still yet to own. I know, I know, how can this be a must-have if I don't own it?! But I have still yet to go on my winter shopping spree and this is DEFINITELY #1 on my list. It can make any outfit look effortless and boho. Love.

3. SOAP & GLORY'S KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOUR NIGHT CREAM.
Dang, that's a long title!
I know I've mentioned this before in my skincare routine post but I've been neglecting it(woops!) and just recently got back to using it to maintain my skin in this cold, cold weather.
Bye-bye, flakiness. Hello, smooth & hydrated skin.

4. ROSY CHEEKS.
I'm not usually a big fan of blush but there's something about rosy cheeks that just screams winter to me, is it just me?!

5. BAD TO THE BRONZE.
Many, many(MANY) Youtubers & Bloggers were using this product during the summer time but I never understood why! The color is a cool-toned bronze which is perfect for winter & the shimmer and iridescence in the shadow makes it perfect for those holiday parties! You can literally apply this with only your fingers on the lid and follow it up with a cool-toned brown in the crease and it will literally look like you spent ages trying to achieve your eye look but little do they know...

6. LEATHER.
Leather is perfect for these colder months coming up because if you live in Bahrain(which you probably do), you'll know that wearing ANYTHING leather is pretty much impossible without sweating half your body weight in this hot climate and during the winter is where I get the most wear out of my leather pieces! You can find leather in almost any clothing piece; whether it be a leather skirt, leather leggings, pants, leather jacket, or even a simple leather purse! The possibilities are endless.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and possibly even added a couple of items to your shopping list to kick of this winter with some sass! Please tell my your opinion down below or on my ask.fm page and please tell me what you want to see this winter(post-wise!)

Inspiration Post #1

Hey, dolls!
I apologize for not posting for over a month! I've just been so busy with school work(high school ain't all it's cracked up to be). That, and because of lack of inspiration for the past month or so. But I'm back and as inspired as ever! So here's a post to show you what has inspired me in this month of October and a feel of my current style.
Enjoy!

(I do not own any of these pictures. There are all accumulated from Google, Tumblr & Weheartit)

Been loving streched ears. Anticipating on stretching mine!

Iggy's style = flawless.

I love the look of clean white shoes with a pair of perfect blue denim.

Huf socks are life.

The only thing keeping me going.

& that's it! I hope you enjoyed my little assortment of pictures and hopefully, they inspire you, too!
Tell me what you think either in the comments below or on my ask.fm page.

Back 2 School: My Top 5 Bag Picks

Hello, gorgeous!
I apologize for my absence and lack of blog posts! I know, I know, you read this in EVERY introduction but I really do feel guilty and when I'm not posting, all I'm thinking about is a proper post to satisfy my readers.
This post is just a tad bit late but since school started, I thought why not do a post about school bags, 5 bags I would buy if I didn't have the school bag I have now(fyi, I have a purple neon medium Bloomingdales bag!).

Let's get started!

1. BCBGENERATION Multi Recess Bag

This, for some odd reason, is my favorite one out of the whole list so it HAD to be #1. The colors are so fresh and lively, it'll definitely brighten you and anyone else's day on a gloomy, depressing school day.
I actually plan on purchasing this backpack very soon, too!
Purchase it here.

2. MARC BY MARC JACOBS Pretty Nylon Lil Tate Tote in Quartz Grey

If you've read my Summer Must-Haves post, you'd know I have this love affair with all Marc by Marc Jacob totes. They come in literally every color and pattern to suit everyone's taste and is why I love 'em!
During the colder weather, I tend to gravitate towards monochromatic colors and hues of grey so this caught my eye the minute I found it whilst window shopping on Bloomingdales. You can never go wrong with such a classic!
Purchase it here.

3. UNIF Black Pack Backpack
I'm pretty sure almost every girl has heard of this masterpiece and if you haven't, then guuuuuurl, where have you been?! This just screams edge and has a whole lot of spunk. You will rock the hallways with this unique black leather backpack with silver metal spikes dominating  over half of the bag. And hey, if anyone's annoying you, you can always 'accidentally' bump your backpack into them.
Purchase it here.

4. FOREVER 21 Street-Chic Purse Tote
How cute is this graphic bag?! I'm absolutely in love, and for only 3.8$(less than 2BHD) this is a definite steal! It's so simple and yet I love it. The good thing about this bag is that it's a PLAIN white and you can always spice it up in your own way buy adding studs, coloring it, a couple colorful paint splashes, however you'd like!
Purchase it here.

5. *MKL ACCESSORIES The Pink Plastics Backpack(by Hollywood Mirror)
Take on the clear/translucent trend with the sass with this fluorescent neon pink clear plastic backpack. Simple, but not too simple and it seems like the perfect size to fit all of your books. Nothing can go wrong with this bag, I love it!
Purchase it here.

& that concludes this post!
I really hope you found this post helpful and please tell me if you want me to continue with the 'Back 2 School' series(including makeup products, shoes, etc).

The VMAS 2013 Red Carpet

Hey loves!

I apologize for being away for so long but I was on vacation and I couldn't find ANY time to settle down and type down a well-deserved post my readers needed so today's the day I do! I've been literally counting down the minutes until the VMA's and been anxiously voting for my favorite artists(& by favorite artists, I mean just Iggy Azalea & 1D). What got me so hyped up about this event was because of the red carpet. This applies to every award show. In today's post, there will be 2 sections; best-dressed & not so-best-dressed. Now let's get started!

Best Dressed:

1. Iggy Azalea.

In Emilio Pucci
Not to sound bias or anything, but Iggy Azalea could make a potato sack look amazing. She's always gorgeous. Nonetheless, Iggy looked absolutely stunning in gold. The perfect mix of class & sex-appeal.

2. Selena Gomez.

In Versace
What can I say? Selena Gomez has definitely outdone herself this time! She looked absolutely sultry in Versace.  Her deep red lipstick definitely complimented her navy dress. The bustier under her dress really completed the outfit. Can you say LOVE?!

3. Ellie Goulding.
In  Amato Haute Couture by Furne One
Ellie's dress was absolutely jaw dropping. The spikes, the thigh-high slit, the heels, her makeup, EVERYTHING was flawless. Need I say more?! This dress speaks for itself!

Not So-Best-Dressed:

1. Lil' Kim.

I really don't know where Lil' Kim was going with this outfit. I really don't. It's all wrong. That huge camel toe isn't working for her, either.

2. Miley Cyrus.

In Dolce & Gabbana

I honestly expected more from Miley. I know she's trying to aim for that 'unique & edgy' thing but I wasn't a huge fan of the bedazzled crop top and leggings, especially not for an awards show. Her performance wasn't my favorite either. As much as I love Miley, she just put the trash in trashy that night and I'm sure everyone's  still trying to recover from her cringe-worthy performance.

3. Katy Perry.

I tried my best to like this outfit, I really did. Her dress fits perfectly with her 'Roar' theme, I won't argue with that but it just didn't work out! And what's up with those gold dragon flies and the turtle neck? Thankfully, her great legs make up for this outfit!

& that concludes today's post! I'm sure opinions differ so if you thought otherwise, please be sure to state them in either the comments or on ask.fm POLITELY or just don't state them at all! Thankyou.

July Favorites 2013!

Hello dolls!

All this Vimto and samboosa has definitely had an impact on me! I just get lazier during Ramadan. Is it just me? I hope not! With summer almost over, what better way to end it than with a July favorites post?! So let's get started!

1. One by One by Maybelline
I purchased this mascara on a whim during an outing with friends and since then it has quickly climbed its way up on my(imaginary) 'favorite drugstore mascaras' list! It gives a false-lash effect and is great in the lengthening department. Unfortunately, it lacks in the thickening department but it's great nonetheless! I recommend this mascara for anyone looking for a everyday drugstore mascara. Worth a try.

2. Labello Lip Butter
I have to say, I was without a doubt incredibly excited when I heard that these bad boys were launched in Bahrain! Instead of going out to the nearest drugstore and picking one up, I decided to steal it from a friend. 'Cause you know, yolo? I have the one in Raspberry Rose & I'm excited to try out the Vanilla & Macadamia flavor.  It moisturizers my lips and gives a slight shine. Prefer this over the Maybelline Baby Lips!

3. Especially Escada Elixir

I've always been a huge fan of Escada perfumes so getting hooked onto this perfume after one spritz wasn't such a surprise to me. It has this sweet-floral scene that is just PERFECT for summer which quickly made this perfume my summer staple. Not to mention that I'm also in love with the packaging! Escada has won me over yet again.

4. Game of Thrones

I've constantly been reminded of how amazing this show us from friends, family, & celebrities! I wasn't so sure I was going to like it but I've been hooked on the plot after watching just one episode. A quite epic show, no wonder it's been rated 9.4/10 on IMDB!

5. Richard Madden

Need I say more?! This fine human being has won my heart the minute I started watching Game of Thrones. He plays his character flawlessly AND he has a Scottish accent. It can't get any better than that.

6. The Fishtail Braid

I know what you're saying.. 'WHAT, FATEN?! THAT SEEMS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. WHY WASTE YOUR TIME ON A HAIRSTYLE?!' Okay, maybe you're not saying that but still... Not only is this hairstyle extremely easy but it looks extremely pretty. I'm in love with the effortless boho feel this braid gives off. Can't wait to sport this in school!

& that concludes this post! To be honest with you all, the reason behind not having many beauty/fashion favorites or posts is because I've been spending this month in my cave(aka room) and catching up with The Vampire Diaries. But I'll make it up to you like I always do, promise!
