DIY: Acid Wash Jeans!

Hey readers,
I'm an 80's girl at heart, and when I found out acid wash was having a comeback, the 80's girl in me shined through! I'm so excited! Probably my favorite trend of the year.
      If you're like me, and you easily get bored with your basic blue jeans, then this is how to bring some sass to your basic denim;

YOU'LL NEED:

- A bucket filled with water. I filled mine with about 15 cups, it all depends on the size of your bucket.
- Bleach(Clorox)
- A dark pair of jeans
- A box of rubber bands
- A pair of gloves
- Measuring cup
- A well ventilated area(outside)

Step 1: Bunch up your jeans and tie them with a rubber band. Keep bunching, twisting, and tying your jeans until you get to the waist.
(P.S. Ignore my sexy pjs)

Keep doing what you're doing...

After finishing one leg, it should look like this;

Do the same exact thing to the other leg, it doesn't have to be perfect. The end result should look like this;
Then finally secure the whole thing with 1 rubber band so it doesn't end up falling apart!

Step 2: Add bleach to the water in your bucket. I added 6 cups, which is a bit less than half of the amount of water already in the bucket. DO NOT add too much bleach to your mixture unless you want the bleach to weaken the jeans and eventually cause a hole.

Step 3: This is the part where you need your gloves! Put them on and then soak the jeans into the water+bleach mixture.
Some parts of the jeans wouldn't get submerged into the mixture. No worries, just flip the side over after about half an hour. As I said, DO NOT add any more bleach to the mixture even if the whole pair of jeans isn't submerged. Patience, grasshopper.

If your jeans are submerged, keep them in the mixture for about an hour. If they aren't, keep 1 side for half an hour and do the same to the other side.

Step 4: Wash out as much bleach as you can in your bath tub or sink or even with a garden hose.
Yes, it looks like urine. I know.
Step 5: Cut all the rubber bands.

Step 6: Put your jeans in your washing machine, with cold water for at least 10 minutes. Do not add any soap.

Step 7: Either hang your jeans out to dry or throw them in the dryer!

TAA-DAA!

You can now strut your stuff in your fabulous revamped pair of jeans!
Enjoy!x

Summer 2013 Must-Haves!

Hello loves!

With summer right around the corner, I figured this would be the PERFECT post for all you readers.

I'm not gonna bore y'all with an introduction so let's just get on with the post, shall we?

SUMMER 2013 MUST-HAVES

1.  Flower Power!

It doesn't matter how you decide to wear the floral trend, I'm sure any girl can rock this oh-so stylish print.
This pattern has dominated the racks in all our favourite high street clothing brands so luckily for you, you can find this pretty much anywhere, even your grandmother's closet.

My Favorite: Pants.

2. TRIBALTRIBALTRIBAL

To me, tribal print just screams summer especially when it's bright & flirty like the picture above!
Just like the floral print trend, the tribal print trend can also be on any article of clothing, even your nails!

My Favorite: Leggings, rompers & nails.

3. Espadrilles!

You can find these shoes in every pattern and colour to suit every girl's taste but this unique pair by Chanel has certainly caught my eye!
Definitely on my wishlist.

4. Bustiers To Boot!

And no, I don't mean the bustiers women used to wear under their dresses during the Victorian times.
Bustier tops or 'bralets' seem to be everywhere in Topshop this season and believe me, I am not complaining!
You can pair these babies with everything, a high-low skirt, or a high-waisted pair of shorts/jeans.

& last but certainly not least...

5. Toast To A Bright Tote.

A bright tote is a must-have during every summer season, no matter what year!
They're the perfect bag to carry all the useless crap us girls seem to lug around.
& Oh boy, this barbie pink Marc Jacobs tote seems to be screaming my name!
Hey mum...

That concludes today's post & I really hope you all enjoyed it! Stay tuned for the upcoming summer-related posts but until then, you know where to find me!

Review: Coastal Scents

Calling all makeup addicts!

This post has to be the most requested out of all & it is the awaited Coastal Scents review.
Before we get into this post, I would like to say that I am not sponsored of affiliated by Coastal Scents. It's only one of my favourite AND affordable makeup brands of all time so I decided to share my opinion & experiences with the Coastal Scents products.

I am going to be reviewing:
- Eclipse Concealer Palette.
- 88 Original Palette.
- 28 Neutral Palette.
- 10 Blush Palette.
- 22 Piece Brush Set.

Eclipse Concealer Palette:

Retails at: 14.95$

This concealer palette is probably my favourite out of all the palettes. The concealers are so creamy and blends flawlessly. It works for almost all skin types(Dry, oily, normal) and is ideal for covering up imperfections and under eye circles.
Other than the 11 skin tone colors to choose from, there are also 4 other shades. There's green, lavender, yellow, & a shimmery white.
Green is used to cover up any redness. Just apply the green on your red pimples or around you nose and then follow up with your regular concealer & foundation routine.
Lavender is used to balance out any yellow tones and to brighten up a sallow complexion and again, follow up with your regular concealer & foundation routine.
Yellow is used to contract any purple-ish tones around the face(veins, and dark-purple under eye circles), follow up with your regular concealer & foundation routine.
White - shimmery color is used to highlight! It doesn't really conceal anything. Just apply some on where light usually hits your face so that means your cheekbones, bridge of your nose, brow bone, cupids bow and on your chin and forehead if you don't have oily skin.
Purchase this palette here.

88 Original Palette:

Retails at: 18.95$
This palette is my least used and least favourite palette out of all, to be honest. I'm not a huge fan of these bright colours in the palette but I still feel that this palette is an essential for every makeup fanatic out there.
It has average pigmentation on it's own but with a base, the colours are very vivid. It has a long lasting power, too.  Lasts for about a lifetime.
Purchase this palette here.

28 Neutral Palette:

Retails at 18.95$
This is my favourite eyeshadow palette that I've tried so far and although I don't tend to wear a lot of eyeshadow, I usually gravitate to this when I feel like putting some eyeshadow on.
It has better pigmentation that the 88 Original Palette and bigger eyeshadow pans.
A good MAC alternative.
Purchase this palette here.

10 Blush Palette:
Retails at 15.95$

I love this palette! It's quite inexpensive for 10 blushes that are pretty big, too. With this palette, I'm spoiled with choice! I try out a new blush colour almost everyday.
There are 4 matte(my favourite) and 6 shimmery blushes.
Some can even be used as bronzer!
Purchase this palette here.

22 Piece Brush Set:
Retails at 34.95$
This is a bit pricey compared to most of the palettes but if you think of it, it's actually very cheap for 22 GOOD quality brushes.
They don't shed and apply makeup flawlessly. They don't lose their shape after washing, either.
If you're starting off with makeup and want to build up your brush collection, I'd definitely recommend this and has almost every brush you need(& more!)
Purchase this set here.

I hope you all benefited from this post and please tell me if you ever end up buying these palettes!
Also, Coastal Scents has A LOT of sales so be sure to check out their website daily or just subscribe to their newsletter.
& lucky for you, all these palettes are currently on sale(Except for the concealer palette)!

Skincare Routine(ft. Soap & Glory)

Hello gorgeous!

This post has been on the top of my list because I always get loads and loads of questions on my ask.fm asking me about my skincare routine, how I keep my skin fairly clear and how to get rid of acne so I thought it was about time to share my skincare routine with all you girlies struggling with the burden that comes with puberty.

*Disclaimer: I have normal-to-combination skin*

Face Wash:
Soap & Glory Clarity Face Soap
I bought this product on a whim because I got tired of using the same face wash over & over & over again...
The little beads in this face wash makes for a mild exfoliator which is of course, a plus!

Moisturizer:

Day Cream:
L'Occitane Ultra-Matte Face Fluid
This product is perfect if you suffer from an oily t-zone(your forehead, nose & chin) and hate using blotting powder or blotting sheets throughout the day.
I was introduced to this product by my sister & I'll never go back.
It also has a faint smell of Johnson's baby powder which also attracted me to it..

Night Cream:
Soap & Glory Night in Shining Armour
Having a night cream & day cream isn't really essential to clear, beautiful skin but this is an optional step that I like to take! When you apply this cream, it'll feel so thick and uncomfortable but when you sleep on it, you'll wake up with baby soft skin!

Eye Cream:

Soap & Glory Super Eyes, Super Eyes
Just like night cream, an eye cream isn't an important step in your skincare routine, especially at a young age but I unfortunately suffer from extreme puffy eyes in the morning and this helps to minimize puffy eyes and dark circles.

Other:
Bioderma Cleansing Water(Sensitive skin)
I honestly have no idea in which category to place this product since it's a 'cleansing water'(whatever that means...) but it quickly became an essential step for ME in my skincare routine since it cleans my skin from dirt & oils very thoroughly which helps reduce acne and pimples(since pimples are pretty much made from bacteria, oils and dirt. In conclusion, clogged pores).

My Zit-Zappers That I Swear By:

Soap & Glory Dr. Spot
I use this whenever I'm desperate to get rid of a pesky pimple and it honestly, works wonders. Using this on a pimple for around 3 days straight will make it completely disappear with no trace whatsoever!

Tea Tree Oil
It doesn't have to necessarily be from The Body Shop since it's only an organic oil but it's where I get mine from. If I'm having a bad skin day, I dilute a bit of this oil with water and put it on a cotton pad and rub it on my face like you'd do with a toner and taa-daa! I do not recommend doing that everyday since tea tree oil is very strong and quite drying and causes flakiness.

Tips for Beautiful, Clear Skin:

- A healthy diet. What you eat reflects on your skin so refrain from fried foods, foods that contain very high amounts of sodium, excessive amount of sugar and well, junk food.

- Rose water. Rose water cured my horrible allergies on my face in around 5 days! I used to put a fair amount on a cotton pad and clean my face thoroughly with it 3 times a day.

- Water is crucial. Not only for your health in general but for your skin. It clears your skin & gives you a healthy glow. 8 cups a day is ideal(2 Litres).

- A fixed skin care routine. Don't switch up your skincare routine very often, try to keep it for the longest period of time possible(if it's doing good for your skin, of course) but if you're like me and you get bored easily, switch it up every 2-3 months.

- SPF. Protection from UVA & UVB rays is VERY  important and I cannot stress it enough. Use at least a SPF 15 everyday, even if it's a gloomy day.

- Free yourself from stress. If you're a very stressed person, then it'll surely reflect on your skin in a negative way. Free yourself from stress by setting a to-do list, meditation, hot baths & showers, and reading.

- Vitamins. I recommend taking COD Liver Oil capsules once a day for your skin, hair & also, nails!

I really hope you found this post informative and take some of these tips into consideration!

♡March Favourites 2013♡

Hey dolls!

I'm oh-so sorry for not posting in like ages but if you keep up with my tweets, ask.fm & instagram, you'd know I had my mocks back-to-back, so that sucked!

Fortunately, all that is settled and I am no longer up to my neck with school work & stress so I'll make it up to you beauties by posting a new blog post everyday! Hoorah!

I have also decided to be making my favourites of the month, every month to keep you up to date with products I've been loving and beauty products I recommend so I hope you enjoy this post!

MARCH FAVOURITES 2013

- ♡Makeup♡
Arch de Triumph by Soap & Glory

It is no surprise that my favourite skin care & makeup brand is Soap & Glory so the moment I set eyes on this product, I HAD to get it.
Lately, I've been a huge fan of full, defined brows and it's one of my main everyday makeup steps because your eyebrows can make or break you.
I am also loving the highlighter part of the crayon. I even use to to highlight my cheekbones, bridge of my nose and cupids bow!

Rimmel Match Perfection foundation

Recently, I've been on a hunt to find a new foundation suitable for Bahrain's icky weather. I wanted something that wouldn't be so full coverage and cakey and wouldn't melt off my face the moment I step out of the house due to the overbearing heat and humidity and this foundation passed all the requirements! I literally tried every foundation in the drugstore, from Revlon to Maybelline and nothing quite matched my skin as perfectly as this. It also has SPF 15 which is a plus for summer! I wear the shade 100 Ivory.

Dream Fresh BB cream by Maybelline

If you've been stalking me on ask.fm, you'd know that I've been obsessing over this product loads. Tee-hee. I was so excited once I saw that Boots started stocking this product because I've been so excited to try all the bb creams beauty gurus on Youtube have been raving about. This is my first ever bb cream so I don't have anything to compare it to but I'm really satisfied with this product and it is so inexpensive! It's perfect for the days when I don't feel like putting on a full face of makeup but I want some slight coverage!

- ♡Hair♡

Dry Shampoo by Batiste
I've never been one to care much about dry shampoo because I thankfully, don't have oily hair but I saw this in Boots one day and I thought 'Why not?!'
So, I gave it ago and I finally understood all the rave about it! This specific products gives amazing body and volume with a single spritz and smells heavenly. I got the one in Floral & Flirty and I'm excited to be trying the other scents as well!

- ♡Fashion♡

Knuckle Rings(Picture off Tumblr)
Lately, I've been loving simple dainty rings knuckle rings like these. They're the perfect accessory to jazz up any outfit and your perfectly manicured hands.

Baby pink jeans from Miss Selfridge

One of the many trends this season are pastel coloured jeans! I'm not a huge fan of coloured jeans but I decided to give this trend a go because it seems so appropriate for spring! I decided to purchase a pair of baby pink jeans from Miss Selfridge to try this trend out & I love it! You can find more pastel-coloured jeans in H&M, as well!

- ♡Books♡

LA Candy Book Series

I'm a huge fan of Lauren Conrad so I was so excited when I saw these books being sold in my school book fair!
These books talk about Jane Roberts and her best friend when they move to L.A & works at a event planning company, and eventually she gets a reality show, called L.A. Candy. This reality show features Jane, her best friend, Scarlett & 2 other girls. All their drama and hollywood scandals!

♡Music

Imagine Dragons Album - Night Visions

My friends & I have been obsessed with this band's album, Night Visions. I recommend this album for anyone who is a fan of indie rock music, like moi.

- ♡Random♡

Sports Day
Honestly, the highlight of my month has been sports day. It was truly a day to remember ♡

I hope you all enjoyed this post & please, do not hesitate to request some new posts I could do!

My Top 5 Favorite Lip Products

Heyy beautiess,

Today's post will be a beauty post, AGAIN. I'm terribly sorry that I keep doing these but the truth is, I have no idea what to do for a fashion post other than the predictable 'ootd'. So get on with the requests!

MY TOP 5 FAVORITE LIPPIES!
(In no particular order)

1. Angel by Mac.

I fell in love with this lipstick from the moment I set eyes on it. The perfect mix of pink and nude and a bit of sheen makes it my ideal go-to lipstick! & after I found out it's Kim Kardashian's favorite, it made me love it even more! *Recommended: For pale skintones or with a tan*

2. Vegas Volt by Mac.

This lipstick may seem a tad bit intimidating in the tube but once you put it on, you'll feel fierce!
This is my ideal summer lipstick since it's such a bright color and compliments my summer glow perfectly! *Recommended: For tan/olive skintones*

3. Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Sweet Tart

My favorite lipstick for every occasion. It looks so effortless and pretty and gives life and color to a plain face! A definite must-have for any lippie-addict. *Recommended: For literally all skintones.*

4. Wild Thing by H&M

Perfect for fall & winter, this product is, surprisingly, very good quality! It compliments my skintone in ways words can't even describe and it's the perfect confident boost that every girl needs. Vavavoom! *Recommended: For pale or olive skintones.*

& last but not least...

5. NYX Lip Creams!

Asking me to only pick one of these products as my favorite is like asking a mother to pick her favorite child! These have the creamiest & softest consistency EVER and they also have a matte finish(I'm not a huge fan of gloss). & they smell like vanilla, so that's always a plus! *Recommended: FOR EVERYONE.*

I hope you enjoyed this and you found this helpful!
