TAG: 40 Beauty Questions!

So it seems like I haven't posted in like, a year or something so I decided to do a random & fun tag! This is my first beauty/makeup related post and I'm kinda excited about it!

So on to the tag:

SKINCARE -
How many times do you wash your face daily?

I try to wash my face twice a day but sometimes in the morning I get reallyyy lazy so I end up just using a cleansing wipe.. Yep, it's a bad habit.

What skin type do you have? (dry, oily, combo)
I have normal to combination skin & my skin can be sensitive at times

What is your current facial wash?

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Foaming Cleanser.

Do you exfoliate?
Yeah, once a week!

What brand do you use?

I either use the Scrub Your Nose In It by Soap & Glory or my Deep Clean Scrub by Neutrogena.

What moisturizer do you use?

At night, I use The Body Shop Tea Tree Lotion & during the day, I use Clean&Clear Skin Brightening moisturizer.

Do you have freckles?

Nope.

Do you use eye cream?

Not really, but if my Garnier Roll-On Anti-Dark Circles Serum+Concealer counts, then yes.

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
Well not really.. My skin is really sensitive so it can be irritated quite easily from a certain product or from threading my eyebrows(I get a bunch on my forehead) but a couple of months ago, I had HORRIBLE irritation that looked like acne but nope, my skin is prone to irritation though.

Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
Nope.

MAKE-UP
What foundation do you use?
Well currently I'm laying off the foundation & all I use is concealer and just a face powder on top.

How about concealer?
I'm using the Eclipse Concealer Pallet by Coastal scents. I recently got it and I really liked the consistency and like creamy-ness of the product(tell me if you want a review!)

Do you know your undertone color?
Yeah, I have a neutral undertone.

What do you think of fake eyelashes?

I HATE THEM. They're so annoying and I seriously cannot stand having them on for more than 3 minutes but luckily, I don't need them.

Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?

Yeah, I think everyone seems to know that fact...

What brand of mascara do you use?

Lancome.

Sephora or MAC?

Omg you CANNOT make me chose. I LOOOVEEE both.

Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
No, I don't think they have them here, in Bahrain. :(

What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
Brushes & sponges, obviously.

Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?

No, that's a beauty step that I seem to always forget to put on but I rarely ever wear eyeshadow so it's fine.

For the face?
Nope, I don't wear foundation a lot these days but even when I did wear foundation, I didn't. I found that setting it with a loose powder made it last.

What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
I don't usually buy separate eyeshadows, I just buy pallets but I love neutral and brown-ish shades.

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
Both.

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?

Never ahahaha.

What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
I'm not the biggest fan of them, I find them to be so messy and really shimmery.

Do you use mineral makeup?

Nope. I've heard they don't have the best pigmentation or coverage.

What is your favorite lipstick?

I have a lot and it usually switches a lot from season to season but my go-to lipstick is Angel by Mac.

How about lipgloss?

I honestly hate lipgloss. I rarely ever wear it.

What is your favorite blush to use?
I'm not a huge fan of blush, I prefer bronzer but I like to use Natural Rose(I think?) by Max Factor.

Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
Nope, I never really buy anything from Ebay..

Do you like drugstore makeup?
Yeah, I find a lot of them to be as good or even better than high-end makeup. I'm not really a 'beauty snob'.

Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)

Nope, we don't have them here.

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
Yes! It would be so much fun!

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

Not really, maybe just at putting on winged eyeliner.

Name a makeup crime that you hate?
Blue eyeshadow + red lipstick, dark lined lips with a light lipstick, TOO much bronzer, that mask from using a darker foundation than your usual skintone, I have a lot...

Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?

When it comes to lipstick, I love both but I usually gravitate towards brights or pinky-nudes. I'm not really a huge fan of browns or dark colored lipstick(except for a deep red during the fall) but for eyeshadow, I really dislike colorful shades.

Which celebrity always has great make up?
I love Blake Lively's because she always has a glowy and bronze-y glow & Kim Kardashian's.

If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?
Black eyeliner in my water line, for sure.

Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
Yeah sure, why not...

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
Yeah, I'm not that insecure about how I look but I love having some makeup on. It's fun!

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
MAC or Benefit.

What do you think of Makeup??

I ADORE it. It's like an art and it's something I've always been a fan of. I kind of love it more than fashion to be honest...

So I hope you all enjoyed this post and let me know if you want some more Tags!

Valentine's Day: Girls Night In!

 Hello my little love birds^^,
I decided to make this post Valentine's Day inspired because it's right around the corner and well... not everyone's going out on a glamorous date so single ladies put your hands up!

Not only was this post inspired by the obvious Valentine's Day but it was also inspired by one of my favorite beauty Gurus on Youtube, NikkiPhillippi's Valentine Girl's Night In video(Click here to watch her spin on this!)

If I was spending my Valentine's day at home(which I'm not... I'm spending it with my friends, don't get your hopes up, people!), this is how I'd spend it:

1. An at home spa! - What I mean by an at 'home spa' is pampering yourself with facials, hair masks, scrubs, etc...

Facials:
You can either buy your own or just make it at home!

Here's my favorite store-bought facial mask:

Retails for 11 Pounds(6-7 BD) at Boots(click here to purchase)

No Clogs Allowed Deep Pore Detox Mask by Soap & Glory:

So if you watched my haul, you'd know I recently got this & so far, it's amazing. I tried it out on my mum, sister and of course myself and both my mum & sister loved it as well!

This face mask is suitable for all skin types, and works especially for de-clogging pores, blackheads and deep cleaning  and ideal for greasy, blackhead prone and makeup-wearing skin..so if you love wearing makeup like moi, this will work for you!

Homemade:

If you don't wanna splurge on a store-bought face mask then of course you can make your own with things you have around your house!
You can find 9 recipes suitable for all skin tones HERE!

Hair masks:

My favorite hair mask remedy is to either apply conditioner all over my hair from the ears down and letting it sit in a bun for around 20 minutes then rinsing it off! & if you have some split ends from time to time like me, heat up some olive oil and then apply it to your ends(and ONLY your ends unless you want extremely greasy hair..) for 15-20 mins!
(you can find more hair mask recipes suitable for your hair type here)

Facial & body scrubs:

My favorite facial scrubs:
Retails for 8 pounds(4 BD) at Boots(click here to purchase)

Scrub Your Nose In It by Soap & Glory:

I also purchased this recently(mentioned in my latest haul) and it's ideal for blackheads and large pores so if you suffer from any of them, you'll love this product!

Retails for 7 dollars(4 BD) at any drugstore(click here to purchase)

Body scrubs:
Here are many easy & basic body scrubs to choose from!

2. Movies & TV Shows!

Movies:
Watch your favorite chick flicks or romantic comedies!
My favorites are of course, Valentine's Day, Friends
With Benefits, The Notebook, The Vow, The Killers
& plentlyyy more.

TV Shows:
I LOVELOVELOVE TV shows and I highly recommend
watching Gossip Girl, PLL, 90210, Carrie Diaries,
Sex & The City if you enjoy girly series.

Random essentials!:
1. Chocolate Covered Strawberries!

I know this is random but I LOVE chocolate & strawberries so
mixing them both is a match made in heaven.

2. A cuddle buddy!
So you can either invite your bestie over or buy a
teddy bear or fluffy blanket to accompany you
this Valentine!

& that's it for this long post!
I hope you enjoyed & you got some tips and tricks to
beat the loneliness this V-Day!
Have fun xoxo

Deep Clean Invigorating Foaming Scrub by Neutrogena:

I've been using this scrub for a while now and I love it! It's simple and doesn't irritate your skin, no matter what skin type(so it's fortunately suitable for all skin types, yay!)

This scrub deep cleans and exfoliates and leaves your skin fresh and exhilarated.

How-To: Establish Your Own Sense Of Style

Above, is quite an inspiring quote from the brilliant Coco Chanel. I've decided to tackle this topic before I start on my actual fashion posts because this is something every girl must eventually develop; her own unique style. Many girls have this issue, especially during their younger years because they're influenced by what they see. They're confused and panicked from seeing all these runway shows and new trends every seasons causing this certain distortion and well, lack of originality.

Every girl should look at sense of style as some sort of art because fashion IS art. You usually start with a blank canvas and work your way up with textures, color and accessories. Anyways, back to the point; your clothes should be a way to express YOURSELF because well no one likes seeing the same thing twice.

& please, girls, don't follow up with certain trends because you think it gives you a sense of 'cool' in this society. Do not label your style either because one just simply can't. Grunge, hipster, goth, boho, preppy, girly, etc etc will only take you so far but your own twist is what makes you and your style.

So, let's finally get into the ACTUAL post on how to establish your own sense of style:

1. Look at your closet and take out your favorite clothing items. As cliche as this may seem, let it speak to you. Seriously. Ask yourself: Why did you buy it? What attracted you to it? What's so special about that certain piece? What's so different about that piece from all the other clothes on the racks? Does it make you feel good about yourself?

2. Put together at least 3 of your favorite outfits and then pick your favorite aspect of the outfit and see if it recurs from outfit to outfit then you'll know what you like.

3. Make sure what you wear gives you a sense of comfort and confidence. Don't just wear it because everyone is and because you want to fit in. The fashion icons of our world aren't given the title of an 'icon' because they followed up with trends and wore what everyone was wearing. They were unique and so are you.

4. Last and certainly not least, I've made this blog to inspire you. To give you ideas and maybe some sense of direction, I'm not asking you to copy me and do as I say. I'm no fashion expert, I'm just a girl that has her way around my own sense of fashion and loves to experiment.

Now here are some quotes and tips from the experts to inspire you:

Ralph Lauren: "Breaking rules is what makes clothes interesting. I love mixing fabrics and shapes in unexpected ways - classic with modern, rugged with elegant."
John Galliano: "Glamour today is confidence, independence, not giving a damn, going for it and indulging your desires - in fashion, life and living."
Donatella Versace: "The most valuable item in your wardrobe is not a piece of clothing; it is an accessory. With a quick switch of a handbag or a pair of shoes, you can instantly change your look and mood."
Heidi Klum: "Wear something you feel gorgeous in and don't try too hard; it's much sexier when it appears effortless. Clothes that don't fit, or don't fit the wearer's personality, don't help."

I hope you this post helped you and encouraged you to be yourself.
